This rare and stunning large Carlton Ware Mikado vase is a sought after collectable ceramic antique with mother of pearl white lustre decorated with the Mikado Pattern. It was produced by the Carlton Ware pottery company, which was based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England.

This stunning piece is dated circa. 1923, over 100 years old. The vase features a distinctive hand-painted design depicting Japanese landscapes, figures, and traditional motifs including pagodas and bridges.

The Mikado pattern was inspired by Japanese and Chinese designs, reflecting the broader fascination with Oriental motifs in European decorative arts during the early to mid-20th century.

This W & R Carlton Ware vase bears the company's back stamp on the base along with the Mikado pattern number 2355.

Carlton Ware Mikado vases are prized for their artistic merit, historical significance, and decorative appeal, serving as tangible reminders of the cross-cultural influences that have shaped the world of pottery and decorative arts.

This vase measures approx. 31cm tall and 10.5 cm diameter with the beautiful flared rim at the top measuring 14.5cm diameter.
